Compton. «hared the mixed doubles title with Miss Tompkins, and was runner-up in the men’s doubles. He also won three titles In the junior boys’ events. Results of finals were; Men’s Singles.—G. Jefferson (Waikato) beat D. Cloyn (Mana watu). 15-12. 15-2. Men’s Doubles.—R. and B Purser (New Plvmouth) beat J. Compton and D. Stuart, 15-9. 15-2 Women's Singles.—Miss G Tompkins (Wellington) beat Miss M. McFarlane (Waikato). 114. 11-2. Women's Doubles.—Miss Tompkins and Mrs H. MacDonell beat Miss McFarlane and Miss G. Steel, 5-15. 17-14 15-11. Mixed Doubles. —Compton and Mtss Tompkins beat R and Miss Purser. 15-12. 3-15, 15-13. Boys’ Singles.—J. Compton (Wellington) beat B. Purser (New Plymouth). 15-4, 15-12. Boys’ Doubles.—Compton and Purser beat R. Benoit and I Wlllans, 15-2, 15-4. Girls’ Singles.— Mtss G. Steel (Wellington) beat Miss R Glenle (Auckland), 11-8 11-4. Girls' Doubles.—Misses Glenle and Steel beat Misses S. Craig and M. Tompkins, 15-9, 15-4. Mixed Doubles.—Compton and Mtss J. Thprne-George beat Purser and Miss Craig. 15-10. 15-12.
