(N Z PA. Reuter —Copyright)
LONDON, August 21. The nation-wide hunt for the last of three men wanted for questioning in connexion with the shooting-down of three London policemen w as switched yesterday to Ireland.
Scotland Yard said inquiries I had been made at certain! addresses in the Irish Repub-j lie. but would not say exactly) where. It was the first indication that the hunt for the scarfaced Londoner, Harry Roberts. aged 30, had been extended outside Britain. Seaport and airport | authorities have been on the) alert since the shootings, but. police feel Roberts may have, slipped through the tightly) drawn net. Police pounced on houses) and combed woods all over! Britain yesterday. If Roberts is still in England, police believe he may| ■well have to steal money and) food at gunpoint to survive.) A woman friend of Roberts] was moved by police to a j
secret address for protection yesterday after telling how he spent last week-end at her I home.
Two men are in gaol charged with the murder of the three unarmed detectives outside a West London prison. They are John Edward Witney, aged 36, and John Duddy, aged 37.
