Lei-Dear Pal Favoured For Tauherenikau
“The Press” Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. Lei, the Heathcote Handicap winner at Riccarton last Tuesday week, firmed in favour for the Howard Booth Memorial Handicap, first leg of the T.A.B. double at the Carterton Racing Club’s meeting at Tauherenikau today, with the scratching from the race yesterday of Hatari.
The hardest rivals for Lei now probably will be Justify and Garnishee, another which raced well at Riccarton for minor platings. The second leg of the main double will be the Jurie Stakes in which Dear Pal, Lucky Rebel and Scramble are a fancied trio. Fine weather is forecast and the track is in good order.
