Three Weeks’ Holidays

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 19. A Labour Government would undertake to amend the Annual Holidays Act to provide a minimum of three weeks’ annual leave for all employees, the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Kirk) told the council of the Public Service Association today. Margins enjoyed by many employees over the minimum were not included in the act but w’ere subject to negotiation. he said. On ruling rates surveys Mr Kirk said he w r as in complete agreement with the Publie Service Association that surveys should be applied universally. The trend on the part of the Government was apparently to “compartmentalise” the surveys and avoid the universal applications of them, Mr Kirk said.
