NO LONGER FENDALTON
The Fendalton Amateur Swimming Club has changed its name to the Jellie Park Club. The decision was made at the club’s annual meeting. Since it was opened 18 months ago, the Jellie Park lido pool has been the headquarters of the club. With a membership of 290—a 40 per cent increase on the figure for 1964-65—the club is the second largest in Canterbury. Fendalton was one of Canterbury’s old swimming clubs, but went into recess during Second World War. The club was revived on October 2, the Fendalton school pool.
