SCHOOL FOR DEAF
Junior Unit Authorised
(N.Z. Association) WELLINGTON, August 18. The Minister of Child Welfare (Mr McKay) announced that the Government had given authority for a tender for the construction of a junior unit at the School for the Deaf, Sumner, to be accepted Mr McKay said the new accommodation would provide better facilities for teaching the younger children and would be more suitable for the training of teachers who were to specialise in teaching deaf children.
The building was specially designed for the teaching of deaf children from three and a half.
