Skylit Retired

"The Press” Special Service HASTINGS. The four-year-old Wilkes—Cassiopeia mare, Skylit, a halfsister to the Victorian Oaks winner, Lady Sybil, has been retired from racing by her breeder, Mr W. R. Stead, and will be mated with Sobig this season. Mr Stead, who raced. Skylit in partnership with his brother. Mr A. G. Stead, said on Saturday that few horses imported to New Zealand for stallion duty were as well bred as Sobig and he deserved every opportunity. Skylit did not do much racing. She started once late in her two-year-old season and then had nine races at three for a win, two seconds and two thirds. She had two starts this season for a second.
