1966 CHRISTMAS APPEAL
Churches’ Target £75,000 Plans for launching the National Council of Churches 1966 Christmas appeal were well under way, said the council’s inter-church aid secretary (Mr F. G. Heard) yesterday. The annual appeal, to all congregations attached to the council, provides funds for various programmes in distressed areas and developing countries. Help given ranges from aid in emergencies such as earthquakes and floods, to the support of poor churches in Africa and Asia.
Last year the council's target was £70,000. and the appeal total £69,639. This year the target is £75,000.
