Cemetery Plan
There had been no serious opposition to proposals to renovate the Barbadoes Street Cemetery, the parks and recreation committee reported to the City Council last evening. The scheme had received wide praise. The council therefore approved action on recommendations made to the last meeting. These include the removal of broken headstones and those where inscriptions have disappeared, removal of useless railings and kerbings, removal of the hedge, levelling of the ground where possible and sowing it in lawn, and the planting of more ornamental trees.
