Replacement Of Brushes

More than 300 brushes, worth £350, which were being exported to Penang, Malaya, when they were stolen from a ship between Lyttelton and Auckland, were already six weeks late in leaving New Zealand because of shipping delays, said the managing director of the Hamilton United Brush Company (Mr E. C. Munt). “It will take about three weeks to replace the brushes, because we will have to make special handles. The replacement brushes may have to be flown to Penang by air,” Mr Munt said. “This would cost about £BO, compared with £l4 by sea.”
