FLOWN TO HOSPITAL
Seaman From Lyttelton (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) NEW YORK, Aug. 11. A New Zealand seaman, flown to Seattle, Washington, by helicopter from 130 miles at sea, is reported to be seriously ill at a Seattle hospital. A spokesman for the United States Public Health Service Hospital said Thomas Wray Halliday, aged 36, of Lyttelton, was suffering from head and chest injuries. The radio request for assistance on Wednesday from the motor vessel Waitenana said Halliday fell down a ladderThe United States Coast Guard sent a helicopter from Astoria, Oregon.
