NEW PRESIDENT OF BOWLING CENTRE
Mr J. A. Moloney (Papanut) was elected president of the Christchurch Bowling Centre at Its annual meeting last even-
ing. Educated at Southland Boys' High School, Mr Moloney has been a prominent Rugby and cricket player. He played Rugby, as a halfback or five-eighth for his school, and the Waianawa and Wyndham clubs, also playing for Wyndham at cricket. When he came to Christchurch, Mr Moloney played cricket for the Northcote club. Mr Moloney Joined the Papanui Bowling Club tn 1942, has been a member of Its executive since 1948, and was the club's president in 19«2. His main successes have been in the 1948 champion of champion fours, and, in 1951, the
Eaater foura and South Canterbury pairs. Other officers elected were:— Vice-presidents, Messrs H. W. Calvert (senior) and H. C. Collett (junior); treasurer, Mr J. Owen; executive members, Messrs G. Cotton and H. R. Pool; auditor, Mr F. J. Murray. Representatives. Umpires' association, Mr C. T. Lascelles; turf research association, Messrs J. R. Smith, R. A. Wilkineon and H. E. Brandon.
Committees. Publicity, Messrs F. W. Larcombe, Calvert, and R. Mahalm; bowl testing, Messrs W. J. Cogswell. Owen and S. G. C. McKenzie; match, Messrs M. A. Le Cren, Smith, D. Martin. Collett and Calvert; selection, Messrs Smith, Larcombe and J. T. Bisman.
