Port Is Busy
Lyttelton is undergoing a
busy spell again and yesterday when work began at 7 a.m. there was a shortage of eight gangs (127 men). Vessels shortmr.nned were the Omala at Cashin quay and the Konini and Cheshire in the inner harbour. A total ot 730 men were employed. In addition to British vessels there are three Japanese, one Dutch, one Swedish and one Greek vessel in port at the moment.
