£200 Raised For Lepers
A cheque for £2OO has been presented to the Anglican Church Missionary Society by the Canterbury branch of the Mission to Lepers. Most of the money was raised in Akaroa, and it will be used to help to build a fence around a leper colony at Hombolo, Tanzania. The branch secretary (Miss M. G. Titheridge) said yesterday that it was hoped to raise £520 in Canterbury for the project. The fence was urgently peeded to keep out wild animals.
