JUMPERS AT SANDOWN

Grand National Previews (Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) MELBOURNE. Two Jumping events on the card at Sandown today aiiould heap clarify form for next month’s Grand National Hurdle and Steeplechase double at Flemington. The New Zealand-bred gelding. Premium, is favourite for the Port Phillip Hurdle, about two miles. Premium is a dashing hurdler which last won oyer fences in March. He has been unplaced in recent fiat races, but they will have served to sharpen him up and he win be hard to beat. Brave Copy disappointed last Monday when he ran third at Flemington, but before that had three brilliant wins in a row. Today’s race will be an ideal test for Brave Copy, as he has to carry 81b more than his national weight of 8-7. Ennis will be making his track debut as a hurdler, but his trainer, D. McCormick, has had him jumping hurdles for two years as part of his flat racing programme. McCormick said he would start Ehnis in the Grand National it he won today. McEwan, unbeaten in two steeple starts, is a clear favourite for the Hillside Steeplechase, about two miles. Falsetto, which won last time out, is second favourite, with the New Zea-land-bred Accuse on the third line. Accuse ran second to Falatto at his last start on May . but the New Zealander will eet his conqueror on 61b better terms today.
