Inquiry For Lamb Slow (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 16. There was continued slow trading for reduced supplies on London’s Smithfield market this week, according to the Meat Board market information service. Quotations for most commodities were fairly steady, but there was a slow inquiry for New Zealand lamb with supplies still adequate for requirements. Small quantities of New Zealand mutton were offered at nominal prices. Wethers (57-641 b and the main grade of ewes (49-561 b were quoted at 18d per lb. New Zealand beef was not quoted. The directors of New Zealand Paper Mills report a profit of £32,159 for the year ended to March 31. Because of the bonus issue made to shareholders during the year and the desirability of conserving resources it is not proposed to recommend the payment of a dividend for the year under review.
