Mr J. L. Hunter has been appointed assistant DirectorGeneral (professional) in the Education Department He succeeds Dr. K. J. Sheen who recently became Director-Gen-eral of Education.—(P.A.). Mr E. L. Greensmith has been reappointed chairman of the New Zealand Wool Commission until March 27, 1969. Mr A. Manning, of Timaru, was congratulated yesterday by the Canterbury Education Board on receiving the M.B.E. Members praised his 25 years’ service to education. “He has given outstanding public service well beyond the call of duty,” said the chairman (Mr A. Murray).
