The first English record released by the Wanganui-born singer, Johnny Devlin, could take a “Kangaroo-type” leap up pop lists, according to a pop singer, Kenny Lynch. Writing in the Sunday newspaper, the “Sunday Citizen,” Lynch says few people would have heard of 25-year-old Devlin unless “you’re an Australian, a New Zealander or one of the Beatles.
