HAWKS BEAT WOLVES

Wolves suffered their first loss of the season when they went down to Hawks by six goals to five In a fast and exciting Ice hockey match played at the In door Ice Rink last night. With half the second round gone,' Wolves and Hawks are now joint leaders for the Christ church Cup. The match started slowly, with neither side appearing to make much effort, and it was only in the last two minutes that they showed signs of doing anything constructive, and managed to score a goal each. The second period was a different thing altogether. Both sides pulled out all the stops, and in the first five minutes five goals were scored, three to Hawks and two to Wolves. Both sides played good fast hockey for the remainder of the period without adding to the score. The final period was played at a similar pace, and both sides scored another two goals to leave Hawks one up at the final whistle.

Scorers were: Wolves: B. Guy. J. Phillips. J. Begej, S. Hurd. J. Dale. Hawks: B. Irons (3). M. White, C, Robinson. N. Hole Referees: Messrs B. Dando and H van der Velden.
