WORKS AT GORE
Evidence By Dept.
(Parliamentary Reporter)
WELLINGTON, June 3.
Officers of the Department of Agriculture supplied evidence which helped to determine that an additional freezing works was required in the South Island and that it should be sited at Gore, the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) said in Parliament today. Mrs E. E. McMillan (Opp., Dunedin Central): Is it not a fact that the information given by the department in this respect would indicate that the setting up of freezing works in Gore would channel more sheep out of Otago than before? Mr Taiboys: The facts were presented to the committee of inquiry. It was for the committee to draw inferences from the facts.
