Three From N.Z.
Three New Zealanders are playing important roles at the inaugural assembly of the Pacific Conference of Churches, on the island of Lifour, New Caledonia. They are the general secretary of the National Council of Churches (the Rev. D. M. Taylor), Father A. Mac Kay, the official Roman Catholic observer, and Miss R. Ramsay, of Dunedin, who Is interpreter. Miss Ramsay went to New Caledonia last Christmas to attend a seminar on European civilisation but remained to teach English at the school at Do-Neva. Before the conference opened, Mr Taylor delivered a message in French to a French-speaking congregation. Other delegates attended a Tahitian service, one using four Caledonian languages.
