FELL FROM TRAWLER
An Invercargill man suffered suspected spinal injuries when he fell 12 feet from the deck of a fibreglass trawler to the floor of Sinclair Melbourne’s Lyttelton shipyard on Thursday morning. He is John Gisby, aged about 45.
Mr Gisby was examined by Dr. N. D. Walker then taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital.
Mr Gisby is a prominent trawler owner. He has been in Lyttelton supervising the preparation of his vessel the Willomee for service in the Chatham Islands. The craft from which he fell is being completed for him at the shipyard.
