R. R. Newdick, of New Zealand, was in striking distance of the leaders when he finished with a 72 in the £4OOO Daks golf tournament at Wentworth yesterday. Newdick was three strokes behind the leaders, two English players, E. C. Lester and B. G. Huggett.
