Re-elected President
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) DUBLIN, June 2. President de Valera was elected to a second seven-year term of office today by a slender majority over his challenger, Mr T. O’Higgins. Mr de Valera clinched the victory with 50.6 per cent of the votes to 49.4 per cent for Mr O’Higgins, a 49-year-old barrister. Returns from 36 of the 38 constituencies gave Mr de Valera 531,316 votes to 521,068 for Mr O’Higgins.
