WAIOTAHI SAILS
New Master Aboard
(N.Z. Preus Association)
WELLINGTON, June 3.
The Inter-Island Shipping Company’s coaster Waiotahi left Wellington for Kaiapoi today under the command of Captain C. Bell.
The Waiotahi was left without a captain when Captain 1. E. Durant resigned after refusing to apologise for “insulting remarks” he allegedly made to a Waterside Workers' Union official.
Captain Durant said last night he had been offered two jobs. However, they had not been suitable.
He would not decide on his future “for another few weeks.”
