Butterfly Style
THE MOST PUNISHING of the four recognised swimming strokes, butterfly, is handled competently in this magic eye sequence of photographs by Miss T. K. Shipston, the 14-year-old Canterbury swimmer who will represent New Zealand at the Empire Games in Jamaica in August. Miss Shipston is the Canterbury girls’ champion at butterfly and is the New Zealand junior champion at medley, the event which will be her main mission at the games. She is the youngest swimmer to represent the Dominion overseas at an Empire or an Olympic Games.
