Operatic Society Officers
Officers elected at the annual meeting of the Christchurch Operatic Society were: patron, Mr R. M. Macfarlane. M.P.; president, Mr J. Collins; committee, Mrs E. Smith, Messrs M. C. Marshall (chairman), C. H. Yeatman (deputychairman), E. Craighead, B. T. Matthews, P. Simmonds, B. J. Sutton, and P. Williams; honorary solicitor, Mr N. D. Thomson; honorary auditors, Caygill, Hibbard, Payne, and Hilson. Ten vice-presidents were also elected. Mesdames M. Marshall and J. Sutton were elected life members.
