Oklahoma City Open

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) OKLAHOMA CITY

The Australian, B. Devlin, fresh from his Colonial National Open victory early this week, shot a four-under-par 68 in the first round of the Oklahoma City Open golf tournament on Thursday. This left him in second place, four strokes behind the American, J. Pott, who set a course record with an eight-under-par 64 in the 57,000dollar tournament. Another Australian, P. W. Thomson, also returned under par figures with a 71.

Tied with Devlin on 68 were the Texans, T. Weiskopf and C. Metz. Devlin had 34 each way for his total. Next on 69 were H. Henning, of South Africa, and A. Lerna, J. Allen, and L. Graham, all of the United States.
