The Australian, B. Devlin, fresh from his Colonial National Open victory early this week, shot a four-under-par 68 in the first round of the Oklahoma City Open golf tournament on Thursday. Thomson, also returned under par figures with a 71.
Tied with Devlin on 68 were the Texans, T. Weiskopf and C. Metz. Devlin had 34 each way for his total. Next on 69 were H. Henning, of South Africa, and A. Lerna, J. Allen, and L. Graham, all of the United States.
