Pedestrian Crossings
Sir, —I was much interested to read in the account of last week’s meeting of the Waimairi County Council that a resident had asked for a pedestrian crossing on Fendalton road, between the railway line and Straven road. As an elderly woman, I know from personal experience how alarming it can be having to eros the road home after leaving the bus near the store, especially at peak hours, between 12 and 2 p.m. and between 5 and 6.30 p.m. Can the councillors not have more sympathy for elderly people? —Yours, etc., M. D. GODBY. May 25, 1966.
