NEW PLYMOUTH, May 26. A masked man leapt from some bushes and grabbed a 16-year-old girl harrier in Huatoki street, New Plymouth, tonight.
The girl screamed, attracting the attention of a resident in a nearby house and deterring the attacker. He fled on his motor-cycle and is being sought by the police.
The man had ridden past the girl a few minutes earlier. He parked his machine, hid in some bushes and covered his face with a handkerchief.
As the girl approached the man stepped from his hiding place and grabbed her arm.
