University Buildings
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 17. The Government has approved two further construction stages in the building programme at Otago University. The stages will be worth £1,250,000. The Minister of Education (Mr Kinsella) announced in a statement today that a tender for the construction of a new six-storeyed stage one arts building had been accepted and that approval had been given to the preparation of sketch plans for a second stage chemistry building.
The tender for the arts building has been awarded to Mitchell Bros. (Builders), Ltd., of Dunedin, and the cost of the building equipped will be about £550,000.
