Lepers’ Trust
Board
The income of the Lepers’ Trust Board last year was £102,569, according to figures released by the board’s secretary (Mr D. Douglas). Of this amount, £94,071 was in the form of cash donations, proceeds from collections, and legacies. Interest and dividends provided £3618, and the remaining £4BBO was the estimated value of goods given to the board. Expenses took 18.43 per cent of the money collected during the year, stamps, stationery, and advertising accounting for 13.14 per cent This left a surplus of £83,662, to which were added £3685, the balance from the previous year, and £6885 not disbursed after the board’s previous allocation of funds. The amount available for. allocation this year was therefore, £94,232. Of this. £89,006 has been allocated and the surplus of £5226 has been carried forward to next year.
Cash and goods to the value of £479,047 were collected during the five years ended January 31, and total cash collections to that date provided £1,221,816.
