MRS KIEVET'S DEATH
Man Charged With Murder (N Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 16. Kenneth Mervyn McKay, aged 37, a truck-driver, of Henderson, was charged with the murder of Mrs Anne Elizabeth Kievet at Henderson on May 2. when, he appeared before Mr W. J. Meade, S.M., today. McKay, who was represented by Mr P. A. Williams, was remanded until May 23, for a date to be set for the taking of depositions. McKay arrived at the Court escorted by Detective-Inspec-tor J. F. Stevenson and Detective-Sergeant B. D. Mills, who had arrested him on Saturday night. He hid his face with his hands to avoid photographers as he entered the court. About 30 persons were outside to see him enter. The court room was overflowing. McKay was dressed in a dark suit with a green pullover and red tie. He blinked violently when the charge was read, but otherwise showed no signs of emotion.
