‘Could Be Damaging’
(N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 16. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said today that the British seamen’s strike could seriously dislocate New Zealand's economy “if it continues for any length of time.” “One can only hope that wise counsel will prevail,” he said. The Minister of Finance (Mr Lake) said the implications would be carefully studied. “If it lasts any length of time it could be very damaging to us all in New Zealand.”
