Frightening Thought
The thought of superaircraft for carrying 800 or 1000 troops scared him, the Deputy-Chief of Naval Operations (Air), ■United States Navy (ViceAdmiral Paul H. Ramsey), admitted in Christchurch yesterday. Such aircraft would not necessarily mean a great saving in time, he said, for it would take a long time to get all the men and their gear aboard. Further, if there were an accident to an aircraft of such a size and with such a large number of persons on board, it would be a catastrophe.
