THREE HARD GAMES
Miss Mowat Wins Title Miss H. Mowat won the championship match play event in the Canterbury District Ladles' Golf Association's two-day junior girls’ tournament at Harewood after three hard matches. In the second round Miss Mowat beat Miss H. Ballantyne at the twenty-first, and her semi-final game with Miss V. Stocks went to the twentythird. In the final Miss Mowat beat Miss M. Clark by one hole. Results:—
Second Round.—H. Mowat beat H. Ballantyne at the twenty-first: V. Stocks beat P. Chisholm, 4 and 3, D. Hames beat S. Blssett, 2 and 1; M. Clark beat K. Wilkinson, 3 and 2.
Semi-finals.—H. Mowat beat V. Stocks at the twenty-third; M. Clark beat D. Hames, 6 and 5.
Final.—H. Mowat beat M. Clark, 1 up. Flight.—A. Garland beat D. Richardson, at the twentieth; A. Horne beat S. Reeve, 2 and 1; L. Walker beat G. Brightwood, 2 and 1; G. Longley beat J. Lee, 3 and 2. Semi-finals: R, Garland beat A. Horne, 3 up; G. Langley beat L. Walker at the nineteenth; Final: G. Longley bea A. Garland. 5 and 4. Four-ball Best-ball.—Misses S. Blssett and K. Wilkinson, 5 up.
