Sure Of Rhodesia’s Oil Supplies
tN.Z.P.A. Reuter —Copyright) SALISBURY, May 15. The Rhodesian Commerce and Industry Minister, Mr Bernard Mussett, assured Rhodesians that the country had adequate fuel supplies and that he was confident these could be maintained in the future.
The Minister—responsible for fuel and the battle to beat the British oil embargo of Rhodesia—was being interviewed on Rhodesia radio and television last night He was questioned about the country’s fuel position and about the imposition of a 27 per cent increase in the price of petrol by the government last week-end as a new coupon system of petrol
rationing was Introduced throughout the country. Asked by his interviewer “are we in trouble?” the Minister replied: “No we are not in trouble. We have adequate supplies. We will continue as we have done in the past” Asked whether he was confident about the country's future supplies of petroleum fuels, Mr Mussett replied emphatically: “Yes.”
