Driver Fined
W. L. Heron, the driver of Seven Nights in the New Zealand Trotting Championship final at Addington on Saturday, was fined £lO for causing interference to Flaming Way, driven by R. Donald. St Nazaire broke about three furlongs after the start bf the Members* Handicap and checked several runners. The driver, M. Holmes, confirmed the stipendiary observations that the hone had received'no interference. F.. Smith, the driver of Phillmark in the President’s Handicap, was questioned about the breaking of his hone with about three furlong* to run. Smith said that when the field packed he was unable to avoid touching the wheel of Courtier’s sulky. L. J. Crimmins, the driver of Tuarangi Chief, and K. D. Murray, ' the driver of Adorato, were questioned after the Monte Carlo Handicap about the breaking of Tuarangi Chief with a furlong to go, but no action was taken.
