Steigerman Should Go Well At Stratford

Steigerman looks sure to make a bold showing in the Stratford Trotting Cup, the first leg of the T.A.B. double Club’s annual meeting at the Stratford Trotting Club's annual meeting today. The fact that he is bracketed with John Flon will have an added appeal for bettors.. Both horses are trained by D. R Grantham, who invariably does well at meetings in the Taranaki area. Steigerman has had two firsts and three seconds in his last five starts. He is regarded by many keen trotting men as certain to reach a tight mark. John Flon has not been racing as consistently as Steigerman but he has plenty of ability He was a close second, off 36 yards, in the Hawera Trotting Cup recently. Prince Garry and Dark Omen may be the best of the others Both are solid stayers. The Te Awamutu mare, Belle Serene. is fancied for th< second leg. the Eastern Dist tricts Handicap. She finished a good second to Regal Way at Hutt Park on Tuesday and looks back to her best form.
