OVERTIME BAN
Settlement Not In Sight
(N.Z. Press Association)
WHANGAREI, April 22.
There has been no progress towards the solution of the dispute at the Marsden Point oil-fired power station where between 80 and 90 labourers have refused to work overtime until they are paid another Is an hour.
The contractors’ personnel officer (Mr T. E. Skinner, jun.), said today that “we won’t negotiate while the overtime ban is still on.” “If the men resume work normally, we are prepared to talk about the position.”
