FISH YARD PROPOSAL
Refusal By Council
The Heathcote County Council on Thursday night refused an application by Independent Fisheries, Ltd., to build a fish processing yard in Curries road. On the recommendation of the town planning committee the council agreed that “while doubting the necessity for classifying this industry as noxious, the council declines the present application as it does not comply with the county’s proposed district scheme.” The council also refused Miss M. Bush a permit to subdivide land in Hackthorne road, on the grounds that it had no power to grant an application not complying in area or frontage requirements.
An application by Mr J. J. Keppel to subdivide land in the Horotane valley was approved.
