The offices are in the new i.G.A. headquarters building, Main South Road, Hornby. The Secretary will be responsible to the General Manager for advising and planning in financial matters of some complexity; for undertaking top level negotiations with associated and other companies; for sundry debtor and retailer financing; for general overall supervisory control of the office and for the statutory duties of a Secretary. He will be called upon to play a special part in advising retail members on financial matters. He will act as an internal auditor to the main company and to its member subsidiaries and we will have the assistance of adequate trained and qualified staff to whom he can delegate these tunctions, but they will remain his responsibility. This job can be as big as the man holding it makes it. He MUST be astute in financial matters, have an undertanding of costing systems and modern methods of cost control, and be profit-oriented. Ideally he will be a man with the ability, potential, and interests for future General Management or work of similar responsibility He will undoubtedly already have a creditable record of achievement to show. Applicants should be qualified accountants or secretaries. Age range 26 - 45. Initial salary subject to negotiation and will not be a limiting factor for those with the required qualifications.
