WELLINGTON.
The 1967 North Island and South Island golf tournaments will revert from stroke play to match play in order to assist the selectors pick the New Zealand team for the Commonwealth tournament in Canada, in August, 1967. This was decided at yesterday’s meeting of the New Zealand Golf Council. The island tournaments will be held at Queen’s Birthday week-end, tne venues being Wanganui and Tlmaru. Two qualifying rounds will be played on the Saturday, and the top 16 will then move into two day’s match play to determine the island champions.
