ANGLICAN CHURCH
Name Change Planned
(N.Z. Press Association)
DUNEDIN, April 22.
The Church of England in New Zealand plans to change its name to the Anglican Church.
For many years the official title has been the Church of the Province of New Zealand (commonly called the Church of England). The General Synod, which has been sitting in Dunedin this week, agreed that the most common name was “the Anglican Church,” and agreed to initiate the necessary legal processes to make the change.
