CHRISTCHURCH READINGS Situation.—An anti-cyclone covers the North Island. A cold front extending across Westland and Canterbury is moving slowly north-eastwards. Forecast:

Marlborough and Nelson.—Light to moderate winds mainly between east and north-east; partly cloudy with moderate temperatures. Outlook: fine.
