Objection To Valuation
Six persons gave notice of objections to the latest Lyttelton valuation roll. Three objectors failed to appear and two others withdrew their applications so that these valuations were all confirmed by Mr E. S. J. Crutchley in the Magistrate’s Court, Lyttelton, on Wednesday. The Magistrate declined jurisdiction on the objection made by the Union Steam Ship Company, Ltd. (Mr R. L. Kerr). The objection was based on the new valuation of the company’s gear store (£173) which faces No. 1 breastwork at Lyttelton.
