Last Game Of Rugby
(N.Z.' Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON. The Newport Rugby Club’s 6ft 4jin, 16st second row forward, I. Ford, was leaving for Auckland in July with his wife and four sons, the “Daily Express” reported. This move to a new job as a Government horticultural adviser would mark the end of a record career with Newport. It spanned 10 years and 481 first team games. Asked if he would resume his playing career in New Zealand, Ford said “not a chance.” He hoped to go skiing on the slopes of extinct volcanoes.
