CHRISTCHURCH READINGS Situation.—An anti-cyclone centred over the eastern Tasman Sea extends on to New Zealand. A cold front is approaching the south-west of the South Island. Forecast: Canterbury and the Kaikoura coast.—Northwest winds, fresh to strong in exposed inland areas and spreading at times to the coast during the day; fine with warm day temperatures. Outlook: cloudy and cool with south-west winds. Nelson and Marlborough.—Moderate to fresh north or north-west winds developing; fine and mild. Outlook: cloudy. Buller and Westland.—Moderate north-west winds becoming strong; cloud increasing and some rain in the south, spreading to the north by evening. Mild temperatures. Outlook: cloudy and cool with south-west winds.
