iN.Z. Parachute Champion (N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. Auckland’s H. Hutchison took the overall champion’s title for the third successive year after three days of jumping marred by rain and gusty winds at the New Zealand parachute championships at New Plymouth Airport yesterday.

Hutchison won from Manawatu’s R. Benton, who finished second, and H. Mar-tin-Leversen (Auckland). In a programme curtailed by the adverse weather, Hutchison also emerged with the 3300 ft accuracy landing jump title with 554 out of 600 points. Waikato’s J. Stephens finished second and R. Benton third. For the first time in the history of the National Parachuting Association, two jumpers finished equal second in the third event completed over the three days. In the style jump, Hutchison and the association president, C. Rofe (Manawatu), shared the second placing. The jump was won by Martin-Leversen, who finished with a total of 665 points. Of this total Martin-Leversen achieved the possible of 600 points for his jumps and was accredited a further 65 bonus points.
