FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A south-westerly airstream covers New Zealand. Forecast.
Canterbury.—Moderate variable winds; showers persisting in the alps; elsewhere mild day temperatures. Outlook: Fine.
Marlborough.—Moderate to fresh west to northwest winds, strong at times in areas about Cook Strait, but slowly decreasing; weather fine, with rather mild day temperatures, but cool again tonight. Outlook: Fine.
Nelson.—Moderate to fresh west to south-west winds; scattered showers about the western ranges; elsewhere fine; mild day temperatures, but cool again tonight. Outlook: Isolated showers in the western ranges, but fine elsewhere. Buller and Westland.—Moderate west to southwest winds, occasionally fresh in exposed places; rather cloudy and cool, with further showers Outlook: Scattered light showers.
